Guest accessThe cedar sauna is a separate building located directly east of the smaller cabin.
Feel free to roam the property, just give a little space and privacy to guests in the fireloge, cabin & the other dome.
Additional notesThere is little to no service in the Blaeberry once you turn off the highway into the Blaeberry. Feel free to disconnect fully OR connect to the wifi that works across the property.
There is a short 60m/200ft walk (1 minute or less) from the parking area to the geodome and about 8 stair steps on each side to get to the door.
The geodome is made out of a thick PVC plastic that will protect you from the outdoor environment.
Firewood available on site for 10$. Cash or etransfer accepted.
You may also meet the outdoors cats, Princess, Pablo, Timone and Tony 😺

Neighborhood overview10 Minutes from Golden, we are in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Surrounded by 6 of Canada’s most beautiful national parks : Yoho, Glacier, Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, and Mt. Revelstoke, use the Blaeberry as your base from which to experience the breathtaking scenery, iconic hiking, waterfalls, world class peaks and much more.
We hope you enjoy waking up to the sounds of birds in the forest and the occasional howls of wolves from the wildlife center down the road. In the Blaeberry Valley you are really immersed in nature.
There are 2 main attractions within walking distance of our space, the Wolf Sanctuary and the Buffalo farm. A bit further down the road, you can drive to access the Blaeberry River for endless hiking, whitewater paddling, or fishing.
The mighty Kicking Horse River also provides world class sections of whitewater to paddle on a guided trip by local tour agencies.
In the winter, our local gem Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is the place to be if you want to ski cold champagne powder! It’s exactly half an hour from your front door, we timed it. And in the summer they can hook you up with a downhill mountain bike to experience the mountain on a well equipped machine.
There is really no shortage of things to do around Golden, whether it’s ski touring in historic Rogers Pass or a day trip to have a picnic at Canada’s second tallest waterfall, Takkakaw falls in the Yoho valley, The Blaeberry Base has you covered.
Getting aroundPlease note that in the winter months, highways in BC and Alberta require winter tires(❄️ rated). Roads and our driveway are frequently plowed, however, icy at times. Check DRIVEBC for highway and road conditions.
